Environmental Impact
Kogan.com recognises that customers want less packaging and waste in the products they buy, their homes and in the world. We’re trying our best to play our part to reduce our impact on our planet. As part of this, we are trying to reduce wasteful packaging while ensuring we keep your items safely delivered. This may mean that sometimes we use the original product box to ship items without any wasteful additional packaging. While aesthetically this may not be the prettiest solution, our planet and customers are thanking us for it.
At Kogan.com, we actively assess and address the use of paper, packaging, and plastics across all departments to minimise our environmental footprint. For over 14 years, we have maintained a paperless office and continually implement initiatives to further reduce our impact. These efforts include providing online user manuals for Kogan-branded products, offering electronic billing for our services, and partnering with a Government-approved co-regulatory arrangement under the National Television and Computer Recycling Scheme (NTCRS) to manage e-waste responsibly. Additionally, through our collaboration with All Heart NZ, we extend our commitment to sustainability by supporting the repurposing of end-of-life materials into meaningful community solutions.
Our services offerings through Kogan Mobile, Kogan Internet, Kogan Insurance, Kogan Money, Kogan Pet, Kogan Energy and Kogan Travel provide an end-to-end online customer experience including online applications, customer service and billing solutions, eliminating the need for unwanted traditional paper and postage handling.
The Kogan.com head office, located in Melbourne, has a relatively small carbon footprint, using less than 95,000 kWh in the last financial year (FY24).
